Alison Maria Krauss began her music career early, winning local competitions at the age of 10. The singer-songwriter recorded her first recording at the age 14. She was signed in 1985 with Rounder Records. Her first solo album came out in 1987. She was then invited to be a part of Alison Krauss Union Station, the band she currently performs together. The first album she released in a group with this group came out in 1989.
