Coleman is a native of Blackpool Lancashire. Coleman graduated from Arnold School Blackpool, where she achieved straight As for her A-levels. On 21 March 2012 Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat made it clear at a press conference that Coleman would as the Doctor's companion along with Matt Smith after Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have left the show. She has been active in the film industry since 1987. However she has been more prominent on TV as opposed to films. Eva is most well-known for her roles as Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children and as the detective Natalia Boa Vistas on CSI Miami. The latter gave Eva two nominations for a 'Daytime Emmy. Additionally, she was able to express her creative side through music. Eva is an entrepreneur, in addition to an actor. She has been married thrice and has a daughter from her previous husband.
