Personal highlights for Niykee include getting selected to be part of Snoop in the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, as well as writing songs despite all the turmoil in the last couple of years. She is now a magnet for aspiring producers, she regularly combs through beats that are sent to her and realizes that most result in sparking ideas for songs. It's only after five seconds that I can determine if a particular beat is worth it. Then, I get the idea of a whole song inside my head and start writing. As I play my guitar outside on my porch, words start to flow. The majority of the time it is done in about 30 minutes. Niykee has found that her pain in the past provides an unending source of unexpected ideas. "Even when I don't write about my personal life it is the loss of my sister as well as my difficult childhood is incorporated in my lyrics," she says. The memories influence my songs and builds this deeper meaning under everything which is among the most significant things that I value. It is important to me to realize that I'll be able to listen to any one of my songs 20 years down the road and be proud of what I wrote.
